Summer League starts June 16th. We will play every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday - both Junior and Senior teams.
2008 Results
5/17: In an amazing game that was lost, won, lost, won and ultimately lost, Apex took on Hoggard for 10 innings before ending their season with a 9-8 defeat. This third round of the State Playoffs was a hard fought game that had many twists and turns. "A Classic" is how it was described by fans attending the game. It was a tough way to end the season, but a testament to the ability of Apex to fight for 10 long innings. Congrats on a great season! Cary News Story
5/13: Apex 11 - Cape Fear 1. Apex takes advantage of each Cape Fear error and Jake Milinichik & Parker Harrell pitching to shut down the Colts in State Tournament 2nd round action.
5/9: State Playoff vs Broughton. Apex overcomes 3 Broughton HRs and wins in the bottom of the 7th 5-4! A walk, 0-2 count single up the middle by Cory Thompson and Broughton errors on a Chris Diaz bunt bring the Cougars to Victory.
5/5: Apex 5, Lee County 2. Apex is Tri-8 Conference Champs! Regular Season Record: 15-5.
JV jumps ahead of Lee Co. and stays there thru Tighe's 3 run homer 10-5.
5/1: Apex 4, Fuquay 2. Hawley gets the win on Allard's 2-3 hitting. JV also bests Fuquay, 7-4.
4/29: Apex 6, Cary 0. Milinichick throws a 1 hitter. Cary JV eeked out an 8-7 lead over Apex JV as time ran out.
4/25: Apex 11 Panther Creek 10. JV also rolls to victory.
4/23: Apex 5, Green Hope 3. JV also gets a win, 6-4
4/21: Apex Wins Bobby Murray Invitational, 22-7 over Green Hope
4/16: Thompson's 2 dingers and Allard's 1 did not stop Leesville's comeback. Varsity falls 10-8, JV prevails over Leesville 10-5 on strong pitching by Rholl.
4/15: Athens Drive falls 7-4, with Hawley getting the win, JV loses a close one 7-6.
4/11: The Varsity squad shut out Lee County with a great start - first inning home runs by Thompson and Allard - which were backed up by a great peformances on the mound by Milinichik and Johnson.
JV also defeated Lee Co. Smith, Voorhees and Poliachik all went 2-3 with Voorhees and Edwards pitching.
4/9: Varsity fell to Fuquay 5-4, JV suffered their second loss of the season - also to the Fuquay Bengals.
4/3: In the first round of the Bobby Murray Tournament, Apex defeats Wake Forest-Rolesville 2-1 on Diaz's hitting and Milinichick's arm.
3/29: In a tight defensive game the JV edged Garner 2-0 in second round Spring Break Tournament action. Ben Scerri went 6 innings, giving up only 3 hits and Harry Voorhees closed out the 7th.
3/28: Houston Hawley's pitching and Cory Thompson's 4-4, Diaz's 3-4, and Frankoff's 2-3 nights power Apex over Cary, 15-3.
JV started their Spring Break Tourny by beating Western Harnett 13-0 on Rholl's and Cash's pitching and 14 hits.
3/26: JV beat Millbrook 12-2 behind the pitching of Carson Bowen and Nick Merritt.
Varsity took an early lead but fell 10-8 to Millbrook.
3/25: Led by Cory Thompson's 3 home runs Apex defeats Panther Creek 11-0.
The JV traveled to Panther Creek to win 17-3 on 3-3 hitting by Ben Scerri and Justin Poliachik..
Records
Record: 18-5 (13-1 conference), JV Record: 15-4.
